Springville Trek 2026 — Packing List
"Walk with Me" · June 15–18, 2026
Put your name on everything with a permanent black marker.Bring a sack lunch with you for the first day.
Because of weight and space limitations on the handcart, you are restricted to the items on this list.
Packing List
Pioneer clothing (see Clothing Guidelines)
One 5-gallon bucket with snug lid (doubles as your seat)
1 lightweight jacket or sweatshirt
1 rain poncho, rain gear, or 2 heavy-duty plastic bags (30-gal)
1–2 pairs sturdy, broken-in athletic/hiking shoes
4–5 cotton outer socks (more if rainy weather is expected) + 3–4 thin nylon liner socks
3–4 sets of underwear
Pajamas
1–2 bandanas (Stake provides)
1 pair gloves (leather or garden, non-slip) for handcart pulling
Personal hygiene needs
1 small flashlight/headlamp with extra batteries
Small cross body bag or fanny pack
1 washcloth and small hand towel
1 travel-size package of wet towelettes
1 small bottle of hand sanitizer
1 small bottle of baby powder or Gold Bond
Prescription medications you need, clearly marked. Give to your Ma and Pa if needed.
Sunscreen (SPF 30+)
Insect repellent (mosquito, tick, deer fly protection)
Chapstick (SPF 15+)
Sunglasses
Moleskin or 2nd Skin
Scriptures: accessible on phone or small Book of Mormon
Trek journal with pen. Journal will be provided by the Stake.
If you decide to bring a cell phone — please limit to trek related usage
Sack lunch for first day
Refillable water bottle (metal is best)
Sleeping Gear
1 warm sleeping bag, 1 sleeping pad, and 1 pillow — packed inside a large garbage sack
Blanket if desired
Mark the bag with a piece of bandana from your Ma & Pa
Transported to campsite by support team — NOT carried in handcart
Do NOT Bring
Valuables or jewelry
Perfume, scented lotions, hairspray, aftershave, cologne
Knives, guns, or other weapons
Electronics: gaming devices
Additional Items for Ma's & Pa's — Extra Bucket
Bug repellent
Small basic first-aid kit and may include the following: antiseptic wipes, moleskin or duct tape for blisters, band-aids, Neosporin, hand wipes, scissors, baby powder (for chafing), feminine products, sunscreen, insect spray, nail kit, etc. (provided by Stake)
Extra Items to Go on Handcart
Bucket wrench to pry open 5-gallon buckets
Two insulated 5-gallon wide-mouth water jugs (fits a block of ice)
One cooler for lunches
One tarp (5'×7', 8'×10', or 12'×12') for dust/rain protection — can double as shelter
2–24" bungee cords with plastic tips (secure cooler & tarps)
2–3 squirt bottles or large spray misters to keep trekkers cool
